Kicking it old school! For the first time ever, New Kids on the Block and New Edition shared the stage at the 2021 American Music Awards on Sunday. The boy band and R&B group may have been in their heyday in the ’80s and ’90s, but they still rocked the stage at this year’s show. While the majority of the show took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the groups teamed up for a performance in Boston, Massachusetts, the hometown for both of them. J.B. Smoove introduced the performance, joking that he got beat out by Bobby Brown for a spot in New Edition back in the day. NKOTB kicked off the performance singing, “The Right Stuff,” and busting out their classic moves in all-black ensembles. New Edition followed with their hit, “Candy Girl.” The singers wore trench coats and matching hats. It then switched to NKOTB with “Step by Step,” with “Mr. Telephone Man.” Joey Fatone from *NSYNC and BTS were among the boy banders in the crowd seen dancing along to the performance.

The two groups then joined forces at the end to combine “Is This the End” and “Please Don’t Go Girl,” before New Edition took over again and sang “Can You Stand the Rain.” NKOTB quickly followed with “You Got It (The Right Stuff).” But the fun didn’t stop there as New Edition also showed off their dance moves with “If It Isn’t Love,” as the other boy banders joined them in the routine. “It’s surreal,” Donnie Wahlberg told ET’s Cassie DiLaura on the red carpet ahead of the big show. “Being here is always fun, but to be here with New Edition, who mean so much to us and really paved the way for us, and all boy bands. It’s kind of a boy band night, and it wouldn’t be right to be here without the real guys who created the modern boy band.” While the performance was dubbed the “Battle for Boston,” Joey McIntyre admitted that the groups’ dynamic are more of a “brotherhood.” “We’ll play along, but we’re having a blast,” he added. “We’re just floored. We were knocked out from day one, because these guys are the best guys in the world, Such heroes of ours. So we’re gonna bring it.” The performance marked the first time New Edition has performed at the AMAs since 1997. New Kids on the Block’s last time on the show was in 2010.

Both groups have won two AMA awards. Other performers at this year’s show include Mickey Guyton, Diplo, Walker Hayes, Tyler, The Creator, Bad Bunny, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and more. The 2021 American Music Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It aired live on ABC and will stream the next day on Hulu. Symbolically, the red poppy helps us honour veterans and remember all those who lost their lives in war.

Lest We Forget meaning: The Remembrance Day quote explained and the poem that it comes from

Armistice Day – the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that marked the end of the First World War in 1918 – is marked every year on 11 November. The phrase is used to warn people not to forget those who have lost their lives at war, while we live through times of relative peace. Although it marked the end of all hostilities, the nations were officially involved in a state of war for seven more months, until the signing of the controversial Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919. In London, a national memorial ceremony takes place at the Cenotaph on Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday every year. The Royal British Legion also holds an annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall to honour those who served for Britain and the Commonwealth. Outside the capital, most British cities hold events commemorating Remembrance Sunday, generally taking place at war memorials or public spaces and including parades, silent reflection and readings. Why do we wear poppies to mark Remembrance Day? The poppy has been a prominent symbol of remembrance for almost a century, with millions of commemorative flowers produced every year to pay tribute to Britain’s war dead.

2021

Its origins lie in the opening lines of war poem In Flanders Fields by Canadian officer John McCrae, first published in December 1915: “In Flanders fields the poppies blow, between the crosses, row on row”. The flower was adopted as a symbol by the newly-formed Royal British Legion, a charity established to provide support for members and veterans of the British Armed Forces and their families. The appeal has grown from manufacturing poppies in a room above a shop in Bermondsey, south London to a facility in Richmond where 50 ex-servicemen and women work all year round producing tens of millions of the symbolic flowers. To commemorate those who have sacrificed their lives serving their country, a ceremony will be held tomorrow, November 11, at the cenotaph behind City Hall. We invite the entire Pointe-Claire community to join us in wearing a poppy, symbolizing the memory of those who died at war to defend the daily freedoms that we still enjoy today Remembrance Day is only a couple of days away now, and marks the day that World War I ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Around that time of year people wear poppies as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in the war. There are also purple, black and white poppies that symbolise something slightly different about remembering the war. What do the different coloured poppies represent for Remembrance Day?

remembrance day 2021

The red poppy is a symbol of remembrance not just of those who died in the World War I, but in conflicts before and since. The description of the poppies having grown from the graves of soldiers on the fields was a powerful symbol that was then adopted by the newly formed Royal British Legion. Selena Carty set it up and it is worn to remember black, African, Caribbean and Pacific Islanders who lost their lives at war. This was introduced back in 2006 by the charity Animal Aid as a way of remembering the animals that lost their lives at war. White poppies serve as a pacifist symbol of remembrance for the war. According to the Peace Pledge Union (PPU), the body which distributes them today, white poppies represent three things: remembrance for all victims of war, commitment to peace and a challenge to the glamorisation of conflict. It intends to commemorate all victims of all wars – both military and civilians of all nationalities. As we mark the 100th anniversary of the poppy as Canada’s official flower of remembrance, I am drawn once again to the symbolism and mysteries of this plant.

remembrance day

McCrae noticed the red poppy (Papaver rhoeas) was one of the first flowers blooming in and around the crosses marking the graves of soldiers after the 1915 battle in Belgium’s Ypres Salient. newsletter, Meneka Raman-Wilms asks why — of all plants — “were poppies the first to grow there? Davis explains that seeds from these pioneer plants, like fireweed in Canada, are waiting in the soil to respond to a disturbance that removes most trees and vegetation, like a forest fire, flood, or human activity. “But when poppies germinate after the war, that’s a sign of promise.” Hence the red poppy is a symbol that helps us remember both the devastation of war and the promise of peace. There is also variation in the commemorative poppies that people may choose to wear in addition to the traditional red poppy on Remembrance Day. White poppies — sometimes controversial — are symbols of peace and remembrance for all victims of war, including civilians, and as a challenge to the glamorization or justification of war. Purple poppies are sometimes worn to remember the millions of horses, donkeys, and other animals that served and lost their lives in war. That delicate nature also presented a bit of a challenge when, 100 years ago, the precursor to the Canadian Legion first proposed the poppy be Canada’s official flower of remembrance. How can people wear a poppy at Remembrance Day ceremonies if they wilt so quickly as cut flowers?

poppy day

Today, the Royal Canadian Legion is in charge of manufacturing the plastic poppies we wear each year. Many First Nations artisans and leaders find it meaningful to create beaded poppies to commemorate lost loved ones and all veterans. As Leclair points out, from 1914 to 1918, “4,000 status First Nations people enlisted in the war. Symbolically, the red poppy helps us honour veterans and remember all those who lost their lives in war.

NFL player Henry Ruggs III facing drink-driving charges after car crash in Las Vegas left one woman dead

The Raiders release Henry Ruggs III following his involvement in a vehicle crash early Tuesday morning that left a woman dead.–The Las Vegas Raiders released wide receiver Henry Ruggs III on Tuesday night following his involvement in a vehicle crash earlier in the morning that left a woman dead. Ruggs faces felony charges of driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death and reckless driving, court records show. He was released from a hospital and taken to jail earlier Tuesday ahead of an initial court appearance scheduled Wednesday. The Chevrolet Corvette that Ruggs, 22, was driving slammed at high speed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 on a busy thoroughfare in a residential area several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip at about 3:39 a.m. local time Tuesday. Ruggs and his passenger, Kiara Je’nai Kilgo-Washington, with whom he has a young daughter, were hospitalized with “serious” injuries that police said did not appear life-threatening. The Toyota burst into flames and the driver and her dog died, police said. Ruggs “showed signs of impairment,” police said in a statement that did not identify the woman who died. Police are prohibited by federal privacy law from disclosing medical information, said Officer Larry Hadfield, a department spokesman.

A member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigates the fatal crash involving Raiders WR Henry Ruggs early Tuesday. Probation is not an option in Nevada for a conviction on a charge of DUI causing death, which carries a possible sentence of two to 20 years in state prison. Ruggs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said they are investigating the crash on behalf of their client “and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered.” Chesnoff and Schonfeld also represented Raiders running back Josh Jacobs after his Jan. 4 single-car crash. The driver’s death is the 119th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year, the department said. The Raiders, who do offer car services for players who might need them and have a player engagement program that warns players of such risks, didn’t wait for the courts to act, sending out a brief statement Tuesday night announcing Ruggs’ release. The Raiders had issued a statement earlier in the day saying the team was aware of the crash, “devastated by the loss of life,” and “in the process of gathering information.” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy issued a statement saying, “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim of this horrific tragedy. The Raiders (5-2) were on their bye week but reported back to team headquarters on Monday before having an off day on Tuesday. Ruggs was the Raiders’ first-round draft pick in 2020 out of Alabama, No. 12 overall, and at the time, team owner Mark Davis said of the speedy wideout, “He was the only person I wanted in this draft.” The Las Vegas Raiders released wide receiver Henry Ruggs III just hours before he faced an initial court appearance on multiple felony charges after a car crash in the early hours of Tuesday morning that left a woman dead and Ruggs and his female passenger injured.

Ruggs, 22, will be charged with DUI leading to death after the Chevrolet Corvette he was driving slammed at high speed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 on a busy thoroughfare in a residential area several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip at about 3.40am on Tuesday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said: “[R]esponding officers located the Toyota on fire. Ruggs was hurt in the crash but police said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. “The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 22-year-old Henry Rugs (sic) III, remained on scene and showed signs of impairment. The Raiders said in a statement that they were aware Ruggs had been involved in a crash. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy issued a statement saying: “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim of this horrific tragedy. Ruggs lost a close friend, Rod Scott, in a car crash in 2016. In January running back Josh Jacobs was arrested for DUI after a crash in the early hours following their final game of last season.

Henry Ruggs III was arrested in Las Vegas on Tuesday Las Vegas Raiders have released Henry Ruggs III after he was arrested following a car crash in which a woman died after one of the vehicles involved exploded in flames. Raiders wide receiver Ruggs is due to appear in court on Wednesday on multiple felony charges following the incident in Las Vegas. This year Sunday, March 29, is the day you need to put your clocks forward one hour.

Yes, it’s that time of year again – the clocks are almost ready to change. Sadly, the clocks going forward means we’ll be robbed of an hour’s sleep as the clocks spring into daylight saving time. But hey, at least you don’t have to stumble into the office for the time being. Below you will find everything you need to know about the clocks changing including information about why it happens (we’ve all wondered). While we class it as ‘tonight’ the clocks actually change in the early hours of Sunday morning. UK clocks will go forward on Sunday, March 29 2020 at 1am. Will my phone update the time automatically? Smartphones use the internet to orientate themselves, so will automatically change to the correct time when the clocks go forward or backwards.

uk time

This means on Sunday, March 29, when your phone clock hits 1am, it will go forward by one hour to 2am instead. While you might feel the loss of an hours sleep, your phone will have the time change covered. Countdown to the clocks changing 0 Days 0 Hours 0 minutes 0 Seconds Why do the clocks change? Insect researcher George Vernon Hudson proposed the modern idea of daylight saving in 1895 after discovering the benefits of having daylight hours after work while working shifts. Germany and Austria-Hungary were the first countries to implement it, starting on April 30 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, particularly since the energy crisis of the 1970s. In the UK the clocks go forward by one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back one hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October – this year it will be October 25. The period when the clocks are one hour ahead is called British Summer Time (BST).

time in uk

There’s more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings, this is sometimes also called Daylight Saving Time. When the clocks go back, the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). If you’re forever confused about which way the clocks move and when, an easy way to remember is the saying: “Spring forward, fall back.” WE know you would probably rather forget the date where we all have an hour less in bed but here’s a little reminder for you any way. This year Sunday, March 29, is the day you need to put your clocks forward one hour. The UK switches to British Summer Time at 1am with most mobiles phones and radio-controlled clocks making the change automatically. To avoid confusion, remember the phrase ‘spring forward, fall back’. The clocks always go forward an hour on the last weekend in March in spring and go back on the final weekend of October in autumn. It was first introduced during the First World War by Germany and Austria to save on coal usage.

George Vincent Hudson, a New Zealand entomologist in 1895, and British businessman William Willett have also been credited with the idea as a way of getting up earlier and so having more daylight hours after work. Why do we turn clocks back and forward? Turning the clocks forward by an hour began in 1916, during the depths of the First World War, a month after Germany brought in daylight saving measures to reduce its industrial demand for coal. After the war, the move became permanent and since then the UK has changed its clocks forward for the summer to reflect the desire to have lighter evenings in the summer months for citizens to enjoy their leisure. More time during the lighter, summer evenings allows people to play sports, get outside and enjoy the better weather after the typical working or school day is done. Could it change? European MEPs have voted to scrap the twice-yearly clock changes. In the UK Parliament, a Private Member’s Bill to put the clocks forward an hour was talked out by opponents in 2012 and did not come into law. In it, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Tory MP for North East Somerset, proposed giving Somerset its own timezone, 15 minutes behind the rest of the country. It was his way of highlighting deficiencies he saw in the proposed bill. ‘Summer time’ in Ireland will officially begin this weekend with clocks going forward by one hour overnight tonight. At 1am on Sunday, clocks will go forward from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Irish Summer Time (IST). Most smartphones, tablets and computers will update automatically. However, with the country in lockdown, people will not be able to take advantage of the stretch in the evenings until Easter Sunday at the earliest. Under EU law all 28 member states all clocks go back in on the last Sunday in October and go forward in the last Sunday of March. However, last year MEPs voted to scrap the practice of moving clocks forward by an hour in spring and then back again in the autumn in the EU from April 2021. The vote is not the last word on the issue but will form the basis of discussions with EU countries to produce a final law. The practice of changing the clocks was first introduced in 1916 to save energy costs during the First World War.

Exactly 10 years ago today, Arsenal welcomed Barcelona to the Emirates Stadium for their Champions League last-16 first-leg.

Remembering Arsenal’s 2011 Champions League comeback against Barcelona

Today marks exactly ten years to the day since Arsenal stunned Barcelona in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie at the Emirates Stadium, winning 2-1. David Villa opened the scoring for the La Liga side before Arsenal scored twice inside the final 12 minutes to secure a famous win, with Dutchman Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin bagging the goals. Unfortunately for Arsene Wenger’s men, Barcelona proved to be too strong in the second-leg, winning 3-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate, despite Sergio Busquests netting an own-goal. Ten years on from one of the most famous nights the Emirates Stadium has ever witnessed, football.london has taken a look back on the starting XI that played that evening and what they are up to now. He spent four years with the Turkish club before returning to England in 2016, joining Sunderland on a short-term deal. Frenchman Koscielny spent nine years at the Emirates Stadium and was the most recent player of the starting line-up that faced Barcelona ten years ago to leave. Centre-back Djourou joined Arsenal all the way back in 2004 and had discovered first hand what it was like to be within a club that had suffered the pain of losing a Champions League final to Barcelona back in 2006.

arsenal f.c.

Another player that was part of the Arsenal side that was victorious ten years ago today is left-back Clichy. For Clichy to have been part of the side that defeated Barcelona will have meant everything to him as he was dealt the blow of being ruled out of the 2006 Champions League final with a foot injury, meaning the chance to have played against Barcelona and help the Gunners seal a famous win will have meant everything to him, especially when he claimed an assist. The left-back left Arsenal in 2011 to join Manchester City, as the Frenchman spent six years on the books of the Etihad Stadium club. Just over a year-and-a-half after helping Arsenal get the better of Barcelona, Song made the switch to the Spanish giants in August 2012, signing for the La Liga club on a five-year deal in a £15million move. The Cameroon international had played a key role in helping Wenger’s side topple Barcelona, with his strength and aggression proving vital in the engine room, allowing the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere to show their class when going forward. Song did return to England after his time at Arsenal, joining West Ham United on loan for two seasons in succession. Fabregas spent three years with Barcelona before returning to England to join Chelsea in 2014. Whilst the win over Barcelona will always be remembered by Arsenal supporters for the magnitude of the victory, it was also a night when Wilshere announced himself to the world.

andrey arshavin

Wilshere was only 19-years-old at the time and his performance was nothing short of outstanding, leaving Gunners fans purring at the potential he had within his armoury. After a disappointing spell at West Ham United, Wilshere recently joined AFC Bournemouth and has had an encouraging start to his second spell with the Cherries, scoring two goals and claiming one assist in his first five appearances. In the build-up to Barcelona’s visit to the Emirates Stadium ten years ago this evening, Lionel Messi admitted that he feared the threat of Walcott more than any other Arsenal player. “Barcelona players are not scared easily but I can tell you that when we played Arsenal last season he truly worried us.” Dutchman Van Persie was one of the heroes of the night against Barcelona, scoring the Gunners’ equaliser to cancel out Villa’s opener, sparking memorable scenes inside the Emirates Stadium. Arguably one of Arsenal’s best players in recent years, the talented Dutchman, who made a living for himself by scoring goals, retiring in 2019. After three years with Arsenal, Nasri left the club ahead of the start of the 2011/12 season, joining Manchester City. He spent six years with City, winning four trophies during that time, ahead of joining Antalyaspor in 2017. The Russian had already been on the Gunners’ books for just over two years by the time he netted netted that goal and would leave the Emirates Stadium in 2013, returning to Zenit St Petersburg.

Barcelona players were full of praise for Arsenal star Jack Wilshere 10 years ago – when he put in a world-beating display against Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and co. While Barcelona did go on to win 3-1 at the Nou Camp and eventually take the Champions League against Manchester United, Wilshere’s performance did stick in the minds of some. Before the second leg win at the Nou Camp, Guardiola managed to praise Wilshere while simultaneously taking a dig at his comparison to the same players the 19-year-old saw off at the Emirates. But right-back Dani Alves urged Barcelona to sign Wilshere two years later – despite the Englishman’s injury plights. The Brazilian said: “He is a great player who we have met playing against Arsenal and without doubt he can reach the height of the players we have here at Barcelona like Xavi and Iniesta. Exactly 10 years ago today, Arsenal welcomed Barcelona to the Emirates Stadium for their Champions League last-16 first-leg. Arguably the best performer on the night was Arsenal’s wonderkid, Jack Wilshere. This was the night Arsenal famously came from behind to stun a Barcelona team regarded by many as the greatest club outfit of the last 25 years, a Lionel Messi-inspired side who would go on to win a second Champions League in three years by delivering a final masterclass to humble Manchester United 3-1 at Wembley three months later.

That promise was best illustrated by Jack Wilshere, a 19-year-old sensation who would play 49 games in that breakthrough season. Two loan spells at Bournemouth later, Wilshere finally left Arsenal for good — moving to West Ham in July 2018, where he only made 19 appearances across three seasons before rejoining the Cherries on a short-term deal last month, the immense promise of his teenage years sadly unfulfilled. A Xavi strike and a Messi penalty in a devastating three-minute spell gave Barcelona a 3-1 lead on the night but a second Arsenal goal on the night would have sent them through and they should have got it when Wilshere burst forward to put substitute Nicklas Bendtner through for a glorious chance the Dane would butcher.

Gervonta Davis says ‘Ryan Garcia begging to fight me now’ ⋆ Boxing News 24

By Chris Williams: Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis says Ryan Garcia is now “begging” for a fight against him, but he’s just going to have to wait because he’s got another fight that he plans on taking against a world champion. ‘King’ Ryan (21-0, 18 KOs) had his chance to fight the superstar WBA lightweight champion Tank Davis next. Still, he suddenly changed his mind and went scurrying in the opposite direction towards what he thought would be a fight against former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Unfortunately, when the bottom dropped out of the Pacquiao fight, proving that Ryan had seen a mirage, he was left without the match that he thought he would get against the Filipino boxing legend. But it’s too late, as the former two-division world champion Tank says he’s fighting a world champion but NOT at 130 or 135. Russell Jr (31-1, 18 KOs) brings more to the table for Tank Davis in terms of getting more attention and credit, considering he’s the longest-reigning champion in boxing. As for Ryan Garcia, he will have to look in another direction for his next fight because the Tank Davis ship has sailed. As the saying goes, ‘When you snooze, you lose,’ and Ryan clearly missed his opportunity to get a big paycheck against Tank by backing out after talking a lot of trash about wanting to fight him.

#2 WBC Javier Fortuna (36-2-1, 25 KOs) has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Ryan Garcia’s next fight. This is a risky fight for the 22-year-old King Ryan, seeing that Fortuna is a former WBA super featherweight champion. If Ryan gets hurt by Fortuna, he’s not going to let him off the hook the way that Campbell did after dropping the upstart in the second round in their fight last January. Ryan Garcia stands in his corner before the WBC Interim Lightweight Title fight against Luke Campbell at American Airlines Center on January 02, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Undefeated American youngster Ryan Garcia reiterated that he only has two targets in mind for his next fight but nothing is final on paper. Garcia, in an interview with FightHype.com, cleared the air on his end and explained the sequence of events that led him in posting a supposed fight poster against Manny Pacquiao on social media. “So I go in, I started promoting the Tank fight because that’s the fight that I want and in order to get the fight goin’, you promote it, right?” The 22-year-old Garcia recalled that it was his own handlers in Golden Boy Promotions that gave him the glimmer of hope of a possible fight against Pacquiao. Oscar was talking to me before that, ‘Hey Ryan, I can make this fight happen.’ Cool,” said the interim WBC lightweight champion.

I’m here about making the big fight happen,” explained Garcia. If those fights won’t come into fruition, then it’s up for the Golden Boy Promotions to decide what’s the next best thing for him, said Garcia. He told Little Giant Boxing: “Everybody would like to fight [Manny] Pacquiao. Despite being frustrated by Pacquiao’s plans for the final stages of his hall-of-fame career, Garcia admits the former eight-weight world champion has ‘earned’ the right to pick and choose who he faces. 5 Manny Pacquiao hasn’t fought since beating Keith Thurman in July 2019 Credit: Getty The 33-year-old said: “Everybody would like to see Manny fight a big fight and challenge himself. Pacquiao, 42, hasn’t fought since he ended Keith Thurman’s reign as WBA welterweight champion in July 2019.

By Abu Mahmood: Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2 39 KOs) is not WBA world champion anymore. Yordenis Ugas is the WBA champion and would be the perfect fight for Pacquiao if he wants to try and conquer this division. Which brings us to Terence Crawford (37 – 0 28 KOs) who, alongside Spence and Pacquiao, is one of the top welterweights today. A troubled relationship with his promoter, Bob Arum has left both promoter and fighter discontent but maybe if Crawford was to actually get the fight with Pacquiao and then beat him, it would give him the attention many would argue he deserves. Keith Thurman has been very vocal about wanting to fight Pacquiao again as he feels he would win this time. Mikey Garcia (40-1 30 KOs) would not be deemed a good fight. One of Manny Pacquiao’s challengers thinks he doesn’t want to take a major risk in his next fight. To date, a number of world champions are still chasing the Filipino boxing legend, including lineal junior welterweight champ Mikey Garcia.

Sharing his thoughts on Pacquiao’s interest in fighting UFC star Conor McGregor and lightweight boxing sensation Ryan Garcia, the California native has begun to think that the world’s only eight-division titlist is picking easier opponents over world-class welterweights like him. “Everybody would like to fight [Manny] Pacquiao,” Mikey recently told Little Giant Boxing. “Everybody would like to see Manny fight a big fight and challenge himself,” the 33-year-old pointed out. “So if he fights someone like Ryan, f— it, he’s earned it. According to Crawford’s promoter Bob Arum, he knows his fighter also wants Pacquiao because of the money he’s about to make from the fight. “There’s also Manny Pacquiao who has said that he wants to fight Terence Crawford,” Arum told Fighthype.com.

A14 road Stowmarket Mya-Lecia

Dani Harmer has revealed what it was like reuniting with her The Story of Tracy Beaker co-stars after almost 20 years for her upcoming drama about the iconic character. Based on Jacqueline Wilson’s 2018 book of the same name, My Mum Tracy Beaker follows the former Dumping Ground resident as a now-30-something as she raises her 10-year-old daughter Jess (Emma Maggie Davies). Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com for The Big RT Interview, Harmer said that it was “so nice” to see her cast members from the early days of Tracy Beaker. ‘It’s all the drama Mick, I just love it!’ Keep up to date with all the dramas – from period to crime to comedy Thanks for signing up to our drama newsletter! Immediate Media Company Limited (publishers of radiotimes.com) would love to send you our Drama newsletters. Harmer added that she loved catching up Montanna Thompson, who plays Tracy’s former nemesis Justine Littlewood, and chatting about their real-life children. She’s a mum now herself so we were kind of swapping loads of stories about what we’ve been up to do with our kids and stuff. The three-part series follows Tracy and Jess as their lives are transformed with the arrival of Tracy’s rich new boyfriend, Sean Godfrey (Jordan Duvigneau) and sees Coleman, Thompson and Bridgerton’s Ruth Gemmell reprise their roles from The Story of Tracy Beaker, which aired from 2002 until 2006.

The Big RT Interview with Dani Harmer is coming soon on RadioTimes.com. My Mum Tracy Beaker premieres on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on 12th February. Tracy Beaker is officially back – and we’ve got juicy details about her new show. The original CBBC Jacqueline Wilson series was a hit with millennial kids and tweens, and made central cast member Dani Harmer famous. And now Dani is back alongside a string of OG cast members, and some new additions, too, for a new series based on Wilson’s book of the same name. The series – which has already started filming – will focus on Tracy (Dani Harmer) and her daughter Jess (Emma Maggie Davies), as they try to navigate life as a power duo – maintaining the perfect mother-daughter bond that Tracy never had. That is, until Tracy’s rich former pal, ‘Football’ – real name Sean Godfrey (Jordan Duvigneau) – comes along and sweeps her off her feet. But when everything starts to go “classically Tracy Beaker pear-shaped”, can Tracy’s daughter save the day? Speaking ahead of the release of the new series – named My Mum Tracy Beaker – returning protagonist Dani Harmer teased: “So Tracy now is a mum! Which is amazing, I think the last time we saw her she was working as a care worker in her 20s. “Now she’s in her 30s and she’s a mum, so it’s been really cool for me because like everyone else, I really wanted to know what happened next and where Tracy’s journey is going to take her.” She added: “I think everyone is going to be really pleased seeing how Tracy’s progressed and what a great mum she is.” Dani went on to explain that the arrival of Sean adds a bit of excitement back into Tracy’s life, and brings out her character’s “wild” side again. The original CBBC series made a star of Dani (Credit: BBC) “Sean turning up out of the blue is a bit of a shock for Tracy. “I think when Tracy first sees him, it’s not an instant attraction,it’s almost a bit like nostalgia, when you see someone from your childhood and you immediately go back to being that age again. When you’re a mum, you kind of lose who you used to be a bit, and with Sean coming back into the picture, Tracy is reminded of what she used to be like when she was younger. “A bit crazy, free and more wild…I think she did miss that side of herself, so with Sean showing up it brings it back again”.

Meanwhile, her on-screen daughter Emma Maggie Davies, who plays little Jess, said her character wasn’t as happy with Sean’s return as her mum. “Jess worries that Sean might take her mum away and take her place, that it might affect their bond together, that it might not be as strong…,” she explained. She went on to gush that she thinks fans of the show will enjoy “seeing Tracy as a mum” as the show depicts a new stage of her life. “Tracy is a very feisty character and she’s still as feisty as ever,” Emma jokes. “I think they’ll love the girl power [the series] as well. “It’s so warming in the scenes when it’s just Tracy and Jess, because they’ve such a strong bond”. Also appearing in the new series is Tracy’s adopted mum Cam (Lisa Coleman), her enemy Justine Littlewood (Montanna Thompson) and her birth mum Carly (Ruth Gemmell) – most recently recognisable for starring in Netflix hit Bridgerton. In case you need a reminder, The Story of Tracy Beaker first aired in 2002. The series followed a ten-year-old girl living in a children’s residential care home nicknamed the “Dumping Ground”. The show later made a comeback for Tracy Beaker Returns, which aired between 2010 and 2012, and showed Tracy as a care worker. Tracy Beaker is back and feistier than ever as she becomes a mum – and Dani Harmer has now teased what’s in store. After meeting the unstoppable ball of energy in the Dumping Ground 20 years ago, Tracy (played by Dani) is returning to our screens with a daughter of her own, Jess (Emma Maggie Davies), to care for. In My Mum, Tracy Beaker, Jess and Tracy couldn’t be more different if they tried, their bond is as strong as anything – and things seem to be on the up for the duo as Tracy finds herself a fancy boyfriend. Jordan Duvigneau will play Sean, who was best known as Football during Tracy’s younger years and is now a successful footballer – and after all these years still holds a torch for Tracy. As the pair prepare for a new life together, obviously it doesn’t take long for things to start going wrong – and for old frenemies like Justine Littlewood (Montanna Thompson) to rear their ugly heads just at the wrong moment for Tracy. Speaking about what’s to come, actress Dani teased: ‘The audience will be very pleased to know that Justine Littlewood is coming back. Tracy’s daughter will prove to have a knack of getting in trouble just like her mum (Picture: BBC) ‘I mean, Tracy and Justine have obviously butted heads since they were younger – and nothing’s changed there really.’ The upcoming three special episodes marks the 30th anniversary of the Tracy Beaker books, written by Jacqueline Wilson. Tracy is all grown up after her time in the Dumping Ground (Picture: BBC) Emma was revealed to be playing Jess back in October, and said she was thrilled that her first big role was playing the iconic character’s daughter. ‘It was so awesome to start work on the show as me and my brother have watched Tracy Beaker for as long as I can remember, we are huge fans!’ she said. My Mum, Tracy Beaker is yet to be given a release date by CBBC.
